Brittany is 19. She’s on extended care and maintenance today, but she’s been with the Halton CAS since she was five. She quit school at 16, and supports herself, but she’s thinking about making some changes as she reaches her twenties—finishing high school is one of them.
Asked about her best moments, she says “Summer Camp!” A week away every summer from the time she was 15 until she was 17, plus trips to Canada’s Wonderland, Marineland and dragon boating.
“I feel supported because of the CAS,” she says. “I can call for guidance and say I’m thinking about doing something and talk it over. I know they’ll help me work it out.”
“CAS helps kids who need help. It gives you lots of opportunities you wouldn’t have otherwise.”
